Title: The Blame Game

Pairing(s): Kyuhyun & Sungmin (KyuMin), Minor/Fluffy(maybe)!EunHae)

Genre: Angst, Romance, Drama.

Warning(s): Swearing.

Rating: PG (may later become fluff/smut I'm not sure how brave I'll feel)

Summary: Eight years ago, it had been the worst summer of Sungmin's life, which lead to an incident that made Kyuhyun swear to be Sungmin's enemy for as long as they both should live. The reason Sungmin doesn't quite know. However, soon after Kyuhyun moved away which made Sungmin completely forget about the incident. He pushed it back so far in his mind, that he doesn't even know why he recognizes the name Kyuhyun when the same person from eight years before moves back and joins his class. This begins the enemies relationship as Sungmin still fails to remember what caused Kyuhyun's hatred to build up so much.

Struggled writing this chapter, I got stuck at so many points. But... here we are. Sorry if it's disappointing. It doesn't look like much, but it's actually like 4 pages.

(Sidenotes: They attend and all boys boarding school.Sungjin is older than Sungmin. ALSO I've never written a fanfic before, let alone a chaptered one, it has also been about two years since I've written anything. So stick around maybe and it could get better thanks again).

Chapter 4

“Fight, fight, fight!” he heard children chanting in the distance. The chants then circled him, he tried to see where they were coming from. He looked straight ahead, and saw a faceless figure, a blurred and unrecognizable shadow hovering above him. He tried to fight against it , to get his arms free, but his arms declined all movement, he felt paralyzed and helpless. But he refused to be defeated, he twisted his body sideways as if to throw the figure off of him.

Thud.

Sungmin slowly opened his eyes to find himself back in his room. He sighed with relief, before groaning as his brain and body finally registered the pain of the state his body was in. His covers had twisted around him, and his body was contorted in an uncomfortable way.
He straightened himself out, before pushing himself up off the floor. Sungmin stretched out his whole body, some joints letting out small cracking noises, this is when he felt the crick in his neck.
“Perfect” he mumbled, his voice still in that just-woken-up-groggy state.
“Sungmin you awake?” he heard a muffled voice calling from outside his dorm room.
Sungmin shuffled along to the door before opening it, he leant against the doorframe with his arms folded, “what is it?” he said rubbing his face.

Hyukjae looked at Sungmin, and thinking that he was paying attention he began his explanation of why he was there “It’s Saturday, hyung, and I know you were planning on staying here... But I can’t bare at the thought of you by yourself all day. Donghae and I were going to go to the market for a bit, before going to the arcade or whatever. He totally won’t mind you coming along…” Hyukjae noticed his hyung’s head descending slowly “err… hyung” he said poking his shoulder.
Sungmin’s head shot up, his neck clicking he rubbed it noticing that it felt better “oh hey Hyukjae, why are you…hmm… what?” he blinked at his friend.
“Arcade… market… with me and Donghae, want to go?” Hyukjae said, feeling a bit guilty for bothering his hyung when he was feeling so tired.
“Sure” Sungmin nodded as he took a step forward.
“Hyung” Hyukjae stopped him in his tracks “you can’t go out like that”.
Sungmin looked down at himself and realised he was only in a pair of pyjama bottoms, “right… clothes. They would help” he muttered more to himself “I’ll shower later” as he made his way back into his room.
He wiped his face with a face cleanser, the cloth cooling his skin. Making him feel somewhat more human.
Five or so minutes later he exited his room, wearing a simple outfit of a hoody, t-shirt, jeans along with sneakers.

Hyukjae pushed himself off of the wall as Sungmin opened the door “ready?” he smiled, his gums on show, excited for his friend to finally meet the guy he hasn’t been able shut up about since they‘ve returned back to school.

“Mhmm” Sungmin hummed.
Hyukjae linked arms with Sungmin, as they both strolled down the corridors, and made their way to the school gates.
Once there Sungmin saw a boy about his height, with a child-like face, that looked innocent and pure, who was smiling brightly at him and Hyukjae.
He bowed to Sungmin, “hello hyung… Hyukjae has told me about you”.
Sungmin bowed his head “it’s nice to finally meet you” he smiled, still tired “you don’t mind me here right… I’d hate to feel like the third wheel”
“Not at all hyung” Hyukjae smiled “Donghae is competitive in the arcades, and as we’re both useless. I need a team-mate” he nodded, before grinning widely at Donghae. Hyukjae them linked arms with both boys, and they walked towards the market place.

The market place was like any other, the street filled with countless people and countless smells. As the aromas of all types of street food decorated the air. The boys were drawn to each smell, and wanted to buy everything they could see. Hyukjae, being the somewhat simpleton that he is, found interest in almost everything. Sungmin and Donghae had to keep dragging him away, before the stall owners grabbed his money away.
“Hyukjae for the thousandth time, there is no proven remedy for growth. If it’s in your genes, to be a little bit shorter. Then so be it, don’t go against nature, not everyone here is truthful” Sungmin said, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“But he sounded so convincing!” Hyukjae tried to explain, his argument invalid and useless.
Donghae laughed at his boyfriend “he’s right Hyukkie”.
“You too Hae?” Hyukjae said staring straight at him with puppy-dog-eyes.
“I’m afraid so” Donghae nodded.
“Who’s hungry?” Sungmin piped up as he felt a bit awkward.
Hyukjae and Donghae looked at each other gasping, before simultaneously looking at Sungmin and raising their hands enthusiastic and keen.
Sungmin grinned at the perfect synchronisation between the two. Sungmin turned on his heel and pointed forward “lets’ go!” he exclaimed as he marched forward with the other two following him.

“Oh my gosh I’m so sorry” Donghae apologised quickly as he bowed, he looked up “Mr Cho?… Kyuhyun?” he smiled.
Sungmin turned around with Hyukjae, to see Donghae talking to… that person. And another person who he assumed to be his father.
“It was nice seeing you again Donghae” Mr Cho started “Kyuhyun I’ll be inside”.
“It’s been a while Donghae” Kyuhyun smiled genuinely.
Sungmin and Hyukjae approached cautiously, Kyuhyun caught sight of the two “hello Hyukjae” Hyukjae nodded his head slightly.
Kyuhyun then looked at Sungmin, his smile disintegrated, before turning back to Donghae “you’re number is still the same right?”
Donghae nodded oblivious to the anger emitting from Sungmin’s being. Hyukjae put a arm around his friends shoulder.
“I’ll give you a call we have to meet up soon, okay?” Kyuhyun grinned again “I need to go, we’re seeing Ahra” his smile, faltering a bit and his eyes grew sad, Sungmin noticed and he looked up to read the name of the building it read, Town Memorial.
“Send my regards, I’ll see you soon” Donghae told him and with that Kyuhyun turned to walk inside the memorial where his father had gone.
Donghae then turned himself to look at the other two, “sorry about that. Me and Kyuhyun went to the same middle school”
Hyukjae’s eyes widened “really?… what a small world, he goes to our high school. But he doesn’t seem to like…. Sungmin” his voice fading slightly as he looked at Sungmin.
They all started walking “why is that?”
Sungmin shrugged “you tell me” he laughed for his own sake “ever since he got there, he just doesn’t like me…” Sungmin paused “who’s Ahra?”
Donghae hesitated “I don’t know if I should tell you this, and please don’t mention it to Kyuhyun. Ahra is Kyuhyun’s noona, she died a few years back. It was really bad” Donghae twisted his mouth to the side.
Hyukjae nudged Donghae, “don’t make that face. Smile” he ordered to which Donghae looked up and smiled brightly “lets eat!” Hyukjae exclaimed to break the awkwardness.
“I’m paying” Sungmin declared, also smiling.
Donghae skipped round Hyukjae to hug Sungmin “you’re my favourite hyung now”.
The day continued with no more awkward conversations. Donghae beat Sungmin and Hyukjae at everything. He ended up winning a big teddy bear, which he gave to Hyukjae. At the end of the day, Donghae walked the other two back to the boarding school. He kissed Hyukjae goodbye as Sungmin waited by the gates. Hyukjae then walked towards his hyung, “we’ll see you soon Donghae” to which Donghae nodded.
The other two walked into the school grounds arms linked, “thanks for today, I‘m glad you like Donghae”.
“He’s good to you” he smiled squeezing Hyukjae’s arm lightly with his own.
They walked in a not so awkward silence arm in arm. Sungmin in his own thoughts, Kyuhyun had lost a loved one. Maybe that was why he was somewhat bitter. But the only thing Sungmin couldn’t fathom, was the bitterness Kyuhyun felt towards Sungmin.

Hope you didn't build your expectations too high.

(The events mentioned did not ever happen. I do not own the characters, they are their own persons. I only take credit for the storyline).
