(Sidenotes: They attend an all boys boarding school.Sungjin is older than Sungmin. ALSO I've never written a fanfic before, let alone a chaptered one, it has also been about two years since I've written anything. So stick around maybe and it could get better thanks again).
“Meet me this weekend” Kyuhyun said, the tone used was neither a question nor a suggestion. He was more announcing it to Sungmin as soon as he sat beside him in their art class.
Sungmin replied with “can’t” without looking up from his textbook “Going to Nari… Donghee’s girlfriends school festival” he folded his arms on the table and looked up at Kyuhyun.
“Can’t you just skip that?” Kyuhyun said, sulking slightly.
Sungmin shook his head “already told Donghee that I’m going…but…” he stopped before biting his lip unsure if it was a good idea “you… you can come… if you’d like that is”.
Kyuhyun nodded and shrugged “sure, that sounds fine… it’s a date” he smirked to himself.
Sungmin blushed and looked back down at his textbook “don’t say that… it’s only been a couple of days, keep it quiet”.
Although pleased to feel like a heavy weight had been lifted, and his confusion settled. Sungmin still felt uncomfortable with the idea of going out with Kyuhyun, he didn’t want to announce anything to anyone until he felt comfortable enough with it. And thankfully Kyuhyun was understanding, so he was willing to keep his mouth shut until Sungmin gave the all clear.
Sungmin took a sideways glance at Kyuhyun who was now, concentrating on the piece of paper that he was attempting to sketch on. His tongue poking out slightly, Sungmin chuckled slightly under his breathe.
He looked back at his own work feeling conflicted, even though he had spent more than a few weeks with Kyuhyun and he had indeed grown closer to him, he had planned out several ideas, each time it changed as he grew closer to him. But now, he had no idea what he wanted to put down on paper.
He took another glance to the side and saw Kyuhyun looking at him which caught him off guard, he looked back down at his paper.
“Look back at me quickly” Kyuhyun told Sungmin to which the other did so, Sungmin looked back at Kyuhyun and smiled unsure what to say. Especially when Kyuhyun leaned closer, inspecting Sungmin’s face for a short while, before sitting back up again and lifting both his hands up as is he were holding a camera, he clicked his tongue as he pressed his finger down on his invisible camera “perfect… that should help“ he stated before smiling and going back to his work.
When their class had finally finished Sungmin made his way out of the classroom stretching his arms above his head.
“Min-hyung” he heard, as he saw Hyukjae exited his classroom, Sungmin looked at him and smiled showing that he had saw him.
He felt someone touch his hand and link a finger with his pinky, before being let go. He looked behind him to see Kyuhyun smirking as he walked away. Sungmin blushed, just as Hyukjae came bounding towards him weaving through the crowd of students.
“You okay hyung?” Hyukjae asked, before stopping as he saw Sungmin standing in somewhat of a embarrassed daze, he inspected his hyung’s face closely and started waving a hand in front of his face “Hyung… why is your face red?”.
Sungmin snapped out of it and touched his face “oh… I’m warm that’s all” he lied as he sighed heavily, and linked arms with Hyukjae waving to Donghee who was walking towards the two. He too linked arms with Sungmin as they made their way through the corridor.
“Classes are over” Donghee started “where to now?” he said looking at the two, waiting for their suggestions.
“Library?” Sungmin suggested.
Hyukjae grimaced at the idea of more studying along With Donghee “no, definitely not” Hyukjae said, “Town centre?” he suggested, grabbing the opportunity to shop.
The other two nodded “Town centre it is” Sungmin stated, as the trio made their way to the school exit to waste the rest of their day.
“Aigoo” Sungmin yawned as he stretched his arms in front of him, it was dark now and they had only made their way back “remind me never to play DDR with Hyukjae ever again”.
Hyukjae had a smug grin plastered on his face “I warned you Min-hyung, I have skills” he boasted, but his smugness was short lived as he tripped on his own shoelaces, he recovered himself and walked as if nothing happened.
Donghee and Sungmin laughed at him “that’s karma for you Hyukkie” Donghee said as he patted the younger male on the shoulder.
They parted ways individually as they reached their separate dorm room’s.
“I’ll see you tomorrow” Donghee said to Sungmin, as he made his way into his own room, Donghee waved and Sungmin waved back.
Sungmin sighed unlocking his door, before opening and walking into his room. He shut the door with his back and smiled, finally relieved to be able to relax.
He sat down at his desk, and looked at the neglected essays. He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a plastic bag. He set it on the desk, and twisted his mouth to the side before grabbing it again and taking out it’s contents. Inside was a beanie hat that he had bought for Kyuhyun. The slight blush hitting his cheeks once more, he groaned in embarrassment and held the hat to his face.
During lunch the next day, Kyuhyun and Sungmin decided to hang out on the roof, as they knew not a lot of students went there and they could spend time together.
“My mother is driving me insane” Kyuhyun complained, he rubbed his eyes and looked at Sungmin “she keeps reminding me about the fact that I have to go to university soon and I need to pick which school I want to go to”.
“She just wants the best” Sungmin added with a shrug “I can’t go to university myself”.
“Why not?” Kyuhyun questioned.
“It’s way too expensive, I don’t want to have to bother my eomma with paying for it” Sungmin said casually, he leant back on his arms.
Kyuhyun smiled “and plus, you need to know what you want to do” he bumped his shoulder to Sungmin’s.
Sungmin nodded in agreement “that’s true, what do you want to do?”
Kyuhyun crossed his legs and sat forward “my parents want me to study law”.
“That sounds about right” Sungmin said nodding.
Kyuhyun scoffed lightly.
“Oh yeah… I bought you something yesterday” Sungmin bit his lower lip and sighed he reached inside his school bag and pulled out the hat he had bought for Kyuhyun “it’s getting cold, and I never seen you wear a hat… So I figured you needed one” Kyuhyun took the hat and Sungmin drew his knees to his chest feeling all the more embarrassed especially when Kyuhyun grinned and put the hat on.
“Does it look okay?” Kyuhyun asked as he fixed his hair that was visible.
Sungmin took a peek and nodded “yeah it looks fine” the blush returned once more to his cheeks as Kyuhyun pulled him into a hug.
“Thank you” Kyuhyun whispered.
“It’s nothing…” Sungmin said, brushing the comment aside with his hand.
Kyuhyun peck the blushed skin on Sungmin’s cheek, which only caused Sungmin to blush even more.
“You’re adorable…” Kyuhyun stated, truly amazed at how someone older than him could be so cute.
“Yah! Don’t call a hyung adorable” Sungmin spluttered.
“It’s only the truth” Kyuhyun laughed and stuck his tongue out, he stood up and quickly took a step back as Sungmin swiped his legs in the direction of Kyuhyun’s ankles. Kyuhyun stuck his tongue out again “mehrong” he said teasingly
Sungmin scowled, and stood up to take revenge. But his moment was ruined as the bell rang, “I’ll get you later”.
Kyuhyun grabbed hold of Sungmin’s hand, tangling their fingers together. As he lead the way to the roof’s staircase, Sungmin noticed how safe he felt when Kyuhyun held his hand, it had been a while since he had felt it.
Kyuhyun reluctantly let go when they reached the level they needed to be on, and made the way through the door. Sungmin smiled and made his own way to his class.
The rest of the day rolled on by with not much happening in it.
The usual combination of Donghee, Hyukjae and Sungmin all met in Donghee’s room for their usual nightly study session. Sungmin as usual ending up not doing much studying at all, and instead tutoring Hyukjae. The other two had noticed a change in Sungmin, he seemed more relaxed and much happier than what he had previously been. And he had reason to be, with his head clearer and his family finally getting along with one another, why shouldn’t he be happier?
“Are you still okay for this weekend?” Donghee asked.
Sungmin nodded, as did Hyukjae “yeah” Sungmin confirmed “I umm… I invited Kyuhyun”
Hyukjae gave Donghee a look “you two really are pally-pally now aren’t you?” he teased.
“Or more?” Donghee joined in.
Sungmin scowled at them both, but sighed as he felt somewhat defeated as he knew they were right (well he was seeing Kyuhyun now) “whatever… I invited him and he said he’d like to go… is that okay?” Sungmin asked deciding to ignore them worried he might give something away.
Donghee shrugged a shoulder “sure it is, it’s not my festival” he laughed “and besides… Kyuhyun isn’t that bad”
“Agreed” Hyukjae nodded.
“Good… now… Do you still need help with English, Hyukjae?” Sungmin sighed, rubbing his eyes.
Hyukjae nodded eagerly, glad to have a friend like Sungmin.
“I er…” Donghee started “could do with some help too?” he said.
“Aish” Sungmin cursed under his breath “you two are hopeless” he whispered more to himself “Okay… lets get on with it then”.
(End note: Wow... hello. I have returned, okay here's my excuses. I was at my nan's house from Friday - Wednesday. And then I haven't been in for the rest of the week. I finally found some time today and yesterday to finally get a chapter done. So I apologize for it taking so long... I also apologize for: spelling/grammar errors (I only did a quick scan through), it isn't that eventful either.
